Step 2 (Day 2) – Jazz Music

- Blog Comment: Respond to one person’s journal entry. Tell them what you thought of their entry and what you liked about it. Think about what connections they made. Is their entry similar or different than yours?
- Journal #2 -You finally find your “father”, but learn that he is a miserable old man that wants nothing to do with you. Your father is a member of a Jazz band that is very popular during this time. Research Jazz music during the time of the Great Depression using the resources listed below. Be sure to think about why people created and listened to Jazz. Your journal entry should describe your experience watching one of your father’s jazz shows. Be sure to address:
- How does the music makes you feel?
- What instruments were played?
- What sounds/rhythm/beats do you hear?
- Why is jazz music so important during this time?
- Use the graphic organizer as your guide when research Jazz music.
